Harvard MBA Tuition Over Time: From 1908 to 2024


Data are missing for the 1973-1976 period. Due to World Warld II, Harvard Business School didn't accept new students in 1942 and 1943.

The chart below shows the evolution of tuition on a logarithmic scale. It highlights the changes of the first decades. Portions in yellow indicate tuition stays flat compared to the previous year. Until 1979, the tuition policy alternate between periods of significant increases and periods of unchanged prices.

Due to the Great Depression and the uncertainty of period that leads to World War II, price didn't move for twelve years and even dropped by 50% in 1945 compared to 1942 (arvard Business School didn't accept new students in 1942 and 1943). Since 1980, tuition increased every year except for the Covid-19 period.
